Peirce-Phelps, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a full-time Technical Service Advisor/Trainer in our Blue Bell, PA headquarters location. Peirce-Phelps, Inc. is a privately-held, family-owned distributor of residential and commercial HVAC equipment, Building Automation Energy Management Systems and solid surface kitchen and bath products.

Job Description: Responsible for developing and creating programs to train technicians and installers in the HVAC field.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; overtime as needed

Pay Scale: Depending on experience

  • Provide technical support by telephone and on-site
  • Be capable of producing factual and relevant site visit reports
  • Be capable of normal business writing and other communication
  • Be a positive force in resolving complaints, always looking for "Win Win" possibilities
  • Negotiate fair settlements for all parties
  • Be willing and able to travel with some overnight or extended stays
  • Train technicians as required either on job or in classroom type facility
  • Plan and produce training programs to meet the needs of dealers
  • Use Microsoft software products to present


Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Minimum of five years' experience in the HVAC industry
  • Complete Trade knowledge of all HVAC systems
  • Installation requirements and basic Code knowledge
  • Possess exceptional Service/Troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to be flexible, work independently and experienced to instruct others
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; able to maintain and protect confidential information
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot from wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge of specialized tools, how and why to use them
  • Ability to read, comprehend and articulate technical manuals and instructions
  • Must have composure and exhibit patience when dealing with lesser skilled individuals
  • Must have solid and professional communication skills
  • Must be confident without patronizing clients, must maintain control of site visits and classes
  • Must possess negotiating skills and understand concepts of business decisions
  • Must be a self-sufficient self-starter while working within a team
  • Must be eager and willing to embrace and learn new technologies
  • Should have basic use of all Microsoft software programs, specifically Power Point, Word and Excel
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work responsibilities
  • Strong work ethics
